BOOK REVIEW: A-TISKET A-TASKET,
a traditional song illustrated by Sylvia Ion, becomes a
sweet story with valentine-like illustrations. After
laboring over his letter of love, the envelope immediately slips
from our young boy's basket. As he is leaving the house,
his companion, a dove, spies it. On the boy's journey, he
is distracted by caterpillars, frogs, and he even delays his
mission to do a little fishing. When he finally meets his
love interest, she is surprised to receive a basket full of
caterpillars, frogs and fish instead of the letter. The
dove saves the day by swooping onto the scene and delivering the
letter to the little red-haired girl.
